I really hate dirty floors. Stepping on crumbs or dirt or seeing that little ball of dog hair tucked underneath a cabinet or cupboard can really make me crazy. But I’m also not a big fan of vacuuming or sweeping! It’s almost always the last chore I will do. This was very frustrating for many years because I was constantly dragging out my bulky vacuuming cleaner almost on a daily basis. But now I’m able to keep my floors cleaner with less work! And it’s all thanks to a little robot vacuum…the Eufy RoboVac 11+.
I received the Eufy Robot vacuum in exchange for my completely honest review. All thoughts are 100% my own.
For the past 3 months, we have been using the Eufy RoboVac 11+ on an (almost) daily basis! It has been a new favorite gadget in our household for so many reasons. Of course our floors are cleaner, but there have been some extra benefits that I will get to shortly!
For many years now I’ve wanted to try out a robot vacuum, but the cost always deterred me. Most of these robot vacuums start around the $300 and go up rapidly from there. So when Eufy contacted me a few months ago and asked if I would be interested in reviewing their Eufy RoboVac 11+ I jumped at the chance! I was excited to see how well it would work for our family and I couldn’t wait to share with you all about our experience in hopes to help you decide if a robot vacuum would be right for your family.
As with all of my reviews, I am going to be completely honest with our experience. Below you will see our pros and cons lists. I want to share with you both the good and bad so you can make a fully informed decision.
If you’re considering purchasing a robot vacuum in the near future, make sure to check out the Eufy RoboVac 11+!
PROS of the Eufy RoboVac 11+
This little robot has a lot of positives!
- Price – At ~$249
- Works well under furniture – It’s great at getting underneath furniture you might have trouble getting to with a standard vacuum. We love it for underneath the couch and beds because these are areas we would rarely get to before.
- Does great around the perimeter of a room – We love using the Eufy around the perimeter of rooms. It does especially well underneath our cabinets where crumbs and dirt seem to accumulate quickly.
- Fairly quiet – I would compare it to a quiet dishwasher. It’s definitely not as loud as a regular vacuum. You can easily listen to music, a podcast, or watch television without any problems while the Eufy is running.
- Battery life is great – We can run this to clean the majority of our 1600 square foot home on one battery charge. (We don’t let it in the bathrooms.)
- Works amazing on wood/solid floors -This vacuum is wonderful at picking up crumbs, dust, and pet hair from solid surface flooring!
- A great incentive for kids to pick up toys quickly – This one might seem a little silly, but hear me out. 🙂 When my kids have toys all over the floor and I want them to get everything cleaned up super quickly, I just say “Alright, the Eufy is coming out to clean the floors in 5 minutes. You better get all of your toys picked up and put away so Eufy doesn’t eat them!” It sure gets them moving fast!
Cons of the Eufy RoboVac 11+
- You have to avoid things like toys cords, dog/cat food bowls, etc. – You will need to make sure everything is picked up off the floor before running your Eufy RoboVac 11+. This can be somewhat of a hindrance if you want the vacuum to run while your gone.
- The scheduling feature isn’t the best – When we first received our robot vacuum, we set the scheduling feature to start at 4pm every afternoon. However, for several days the robot would start running at 12pm. And since it’s dock is right next to our bed it would wake us up. We messed around with it and finally decided that just running it on an as needed basis was best for us.
- No mapping feature – This is the biggest downside for me. There are rooms/spaces in my home that I don’t want the robot vacuum going. For example, we have a lot of cords under our entertainment cabinet in our living room. I don’t want the Eufy getting underneath their so when it gets to the spot I have to use the remote to manually avoid it. I wish this robot had a house mapping feature so I could set it up to avoid the space every time it runs.
- It doesn’t work on high pile carpet. – It clearly states on the instructions that the Eufy doesn’t work on high pile carpet. Since our living room has a very large 10×13 high pile rug we can’t let it go in there. And again since it doesn’t have the mapping feature, we have to manually avoid this area when the Eufy gets close by.
- It needs to be watched – Because of all of the aforementioned features, this robot vacuum needs to be watched. It’s definitely something you can use while accomplishing other things. However, I wouldn’t run this while I was gone or out of the house.
Even with the few cons, I believe the Eufy RoboVac 11+ is great if you are on a budget. If you plan to run it while your home, then this is a great vacuum for the price. However, if you want a robot vacuum that you can schedule to clean while you are away from home, then you might want to consider other options.
