Do you love cookies as much as I do? Well, if you do, you are going to be in heaven once you try this recipe! These chewy chocolate chip cookies are the best thing since sliced bread! Seriously.
The key ingredient is the butter-flavored crisco. Do. Not. Skimp. Regular ol’ butter is not the same. You will be disappointed if you do. Yes, these are NOT healthy! However, if you love a good chewy chocolate chip cookie as much as I do, you will be so glad when you make these.
Oh, and try the dough. It’s so good, sometimes I make these cookies just so I can snack on the dough. No joke.
Begin by gathering the ingredients. You will need butter-flavored Crisco, brown sugar, pure vanilla extract, milk, an egg, flour, salt, baking soda, and mini chocolate chips.
Add the Crisco and brown sugar to a large mixing bowl. Blend until creamy.
Add the vanilla…
and milk. Then mix again.
Crack in your egg white and mix.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking soda.
Add half of the flour mixture to the bowl. Mix well. Then add the other half.
Mix until all of the flour is incorporated. The dough should be sticky, but not so sticky that you can’t get it off your hands. Picking up a small piece is a good way to test it…and try a bite…or two…or seven!
Add the chocolate chips. If I’m being honest, I never measure these. Ever. I just dump in what my family likes. We prefer a smaller amount of chocolate chips. Others like their cookies really chocolate-y. Just add as much as you want, and mix again.
Spoon onto a non-stick cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-9 minutes.
Your cookies will come out golden brown on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, like every perfect cookie should!
