Benjamin Samuel | 6 Month Update

Where does the time go? I cannot believe this little boy is 6 months old. He is such a complete joy. I’m so grateful to God for trusting us with this beautiful soul.

Ben is probably the happiest baby I’ve ever met. If you smile at him, he is almost always going to smile right back at you. His eyes are so expressive. He always seems to be questioning how things work in the world around him.

While Ben has been a slow grower so far, he is starting to finally make up some ground. He is weighing in around 14 pounds and is about 25 inches tall. He loves to jump in his door jumper and is really getting interested in toys. He really enjoys to play on the floor and rolls over constantly. He cannot crawl quite yet, but can pretty much roll to get to whatever he wants!

We have been soaking up every last bit of sunshine we can before the weather turns too cold to go outside. The past week, we have traveled to the park a few blocks from our house 4 different times. We tried the baby swing for the first time and Ben was completely smitten. I think he could swing for hours!

He completely adores his big brother, Caleb. He always lights up when he sees him! It makes my mommy heart so very happy. Caleb is a great big brother and plays with Ben a lot. He is really good about sharing his toys. Ben’s favorite toy is his moose we have named Mikey. We are practicing sitting up, but haven’t quite mastered this skill yet.

For Halloween this year, Ben was a dinosaur. He was completely adorable, but fell asleep in the Tula during trick-or-treating. He has been going to bed around 6pm which was when trick-or-treating started. I was worried he might get fussy, but I definitely underestimated the power of the Tula! #tulaforthewin

Ben loves to be worn in the Tula. If he is a little fussy, I can almost always calm him down by wearing him. I didn’t put Caleb in baby carriers much at all. He was a rather fussy baby and I often wonder if baby wearing would have helped him. I’ve become a big advocate of baby wearing, needless to say.

We are really looking forward to the next several weeks as we celebrate our first holiday season as a family of 4. We have so many things to be grateful for this year and this little guy is definitely at the top of that list!
