Setting Goals | December 2015

Today begins the first Goal Setting post here on the blog. I’ve decided to do these posts for two reasons:

  1. Inspirational - I find goal setting posts very inspirational. Seeing what others are working towards to better their lives and be more intentional inspires me to find ways to better myself and my life. I hope these posts can be a source of inspiration for my readers as well.
  2. Accountability - While I’m really good at setting goals and making lists, I’m not always great on following through. My hope is that once these goals are out for the world wide web to see, I will be more likely to accomplish them. Or at the very least, I will try really hard to!

I decided to break my goals into 6 categories. I’m going to attempt to have 2-5 goals for each category each month. I will also review my previous months goals from here forward.

So without further ado, my December 2015 goals:

Personal

  • Daily Devotional
  • Walk/Run on the treadmill 3 days each week. (I did really good with this immediately post baby, but the past 3 months have been BAD! I need to get back into my groove and stick with it!)
  • Try 4 new recipes
  • Get 7 Hours of Sleep a Night (Not always up to me! 🙂

Motherhood/Marriage/Family

  • Complete our Christmas Bucket List
  • Go on at least one date with Tom (our anniversary is December 19th!)
  • Spend 30 minutes each day of uninterrupted play time with Caleb
  • Read to the boys every single day
  • Complete Marriage Bible Study with Tom

Financial

  • Add $500 to Savings Account
  • Complete written budget and STICK TO IT!
  • Pay cash for van maintenance
  • Research “No Spend January”

Home

  • Keep up with my weekly cleaning tasks
  • Make one new DIY project
  • Make 2016 Home To-Do List with Tom

Books to Read

  • Parenting is Heart Work by Dr. Scott Turansky
  • God is Able by Priscilla Shirer
  • Grace for the Good Girl by Emily P. Freeman
  • 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess by Jen Hatmaker (I’m about half way through this one.)
  • Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee (I’ve also started this book already. Just need to finish it.)

Blogging

  • Write 5 high-quality content posts each week
  • Grow Readership:
    • write & submit 3 guest posts
    • share blog on Facebook & Instagram
    • find 5 link parties to join
  • Get 10 posts ahead of schedule
  • Plan January Post Schedule
  • Build relationships with other bloggers
    • Find 10 bloggers in my niche to follow and comment on their posts
    • Like & comment on said 10 bloggers social media outlets
    • Be consistent!
  • Find 5 more group boards to join on Pinterest
  • Set up Board Booster
  • Trial for Tailwind

While looking at this list seems somewhat overwhelming, I know I can accomplish many of these things. Now it’s your turn!

What goals have you set for yourself this December? Do you have a post on your blog? Leave a link below! I would love to read about how your are striving to be more intentional!

Comment Policy

I love to hear comments from my readers. Please keep this a place of encouragement where we lift each other up, rather than tear each other down. I accept constructive criticism, but harsh and hateful comments can and will be removed. Please remember the old saying, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Be kind, give grace, and stay encouraging.
