Hi there, I’m Kaitlin
First and foremost I’m a Christian saved by grace through faith. I’m wife to my wonderful husband Tom. Together we have two beautiful boys, Caleb (7) & Ben (3).
Why The Simply Organized Home?
The Simply Organized Home is a blog I started in November 2015 as a way to fill my evenings after my boys went to bed and while my husband was working second shift. I never imagined it would morph into what it is today! I’ve discovered a passion I never knew I had…for blogging!
I hope you will find encouragement to declutter your home of the possessions that are keeping you from living the life you really want. You will find ideas for realistic organizational systems you can implement in your home without breaking the bank. I hope you leave inspired to find the love for your home again. You can take my FREE 5 day eCourse, 5 Days to a Clean home to get you started!
Our Mission
My hope is that you will find encouragement and inspiration to simplify your home and life by clearing the clutter, implementing organization systems that work for you, and creating a home you truly love.

The Girl Behind the Blog
When I’m not writing on this little blog of mine, you can probably find me making our house a home, dabbling in DIY projects, playing at the park with my boys, baking some chocolate chip cookies (and eating lots of the dough!), watching endless episodes of I Love Lucy, or organizing yet another area of my home. I love chocolate, coffee, breezy fall days, and family dance parties.
I have laundry piles, dirty dishes, and messy floors. I forget to buy that “one ingredient” at the grocery store more often than I’d like to admit. I mix up my priorities and yell too much. I’m a mom and I make mistakes. I will try to be as open and honest as I can because nobody is perfect. I certainly don’t want to give off that impression from my blog. I’m a sinner saved by grace through faith.
My Family
I went to school to become a teacher and had the next 10 years of my life planned out on paper. However, sometimes God’s plans are so much better than our own. I didn’t plan to meet a guy, fall in love, and get engaged in a 7 week time span during my sophomore year of college. I didn’t plan to marry that wonderful man less than 6 months later at the end of my busiest semester of school. I didn’t plan to move from the comforts of my small town life to the big city just 5 months after I was married. I didn’t plan to get pregnant right before we celebrated our 1 year anniversary. I sure didn’t plan to adore motherhood as much as I do. And I most definitely didn’t plan to struggle with infertility for 22 months before finally conceiving our second child. God had so many more plans for my life than I could have imagined. His plans are the loves of my life. His plans are better.
My husband, Tom, is my best friend and constant supporter. I couldn’t do life without him. When we met, we were polar opposites, but for some reason I think we have both rubbed off on each other. We are more alike now than I ever thought was possible.
My two beautiful boys, Caleb & Ben, are my inspiration for this blog. The joy and happiness I see in their eyes from the small things in life have made me want to be a more intentional mother. I’m so grateful to God for these two amazing gifts.
